THE FIRST SOVEREIGNS OF TWO SOVEREIGNS
Queen Elizabeth II & King Charles III. First gold sovereigns of 1957 & 2022

Most people alive today have known only two British monarchs, Queen Elizabeth II and her son, and successor, King Charles III. This two coin set brings together the very first gold sovereigns of each monarch’s reign. The first sovereign of Queen Elizabeth II’s reign was minted in 1957 and depicts the young queen on one side (she was just 25 years old when she became monarch) and St George and the dragon on the other. This first coin of 1957 has edge milling (ridges) that is very close together – the only one of her reign to have this milling – making it a one-year type that all collectors need to own. The brand new first sovereign of King Charles III was minted in late 2022 and features a one-off version of the Royal Arms that will only be used on this one coin, in tribute to Queen Elizabeth II. Both coins are one-year-only issues and both are in Uncirculated condition. If you're going to own only one gold sovereign of any monarch then surely the first coin is the most significant - this set brings together the firsts of two monarchs, the only two of our lifetime.

BRITAIN’S NEW KING PAYS TRIBUTE TO HIS PREDECESSOR & MOTHER
The King Charles III Fifty Pence Tribute Coin Pair • 1953 & 2022

The very first coin of King Charles III to enter circulation in Britain is a seven-sided fifty pence coin with a design that is a tribute to his predecessor, and mother, Queen Elizabeth II. In fact, it’s the ONLY coin of King Charles III presently in circulation in Britain. The new coin, which features a portrait of King Charles III on the obverse, has on the reverse the four shields of the four ‘home nations’ of the United Kingdom: England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland. This very same design featured on his mother’s Coronation Crown coin of 1953. This set brings those two coins together in a son's tribute to his mother: the 1953 Queen Elizabeth II Coronation five shilling crown, and the 2022 King Charles III fifty pence. Both coins are cupronickel, the 1953 coin near Uncirculated and the 2022 coin brilliant Uncirculated. This is the first commemorative coin of Queen Elizabeth II, and the first commemorative of King Charles III, with the same design, one in tribute to the other! In plush presentation case with informative certificate of Authenticity.

Australia’s FIRST 50c coin
CELEBRATING QUEEN ELIZABETH II’S REIGN
In guaranteed Mint State quality

With the sad passing of Queen Elizabeth II late last year a remarkable era has come to an end. Her life and reign was unlike any before her, and some of the most major milestones were celebrated with Australian commemorative 50c coins. If you missed any of them then now is the time to act: there is incredible demand for all the important coins of her reign especially the one-year-only designs and firsts. Australia’s first royal commemorative 50c coin was produced in 1977 for the Silver Jubilee. Although many people put souvenired them from circulation, few would have captured them while they were still in Mint State and in the forty-five years since then, many of those will have slipped below that quality level. We are pleased to say that we have a small number of this coin, Australia’s first royal commemorative 50c, and in PCGS guaranteed Mint State. A handful of these are the equal finest known, meaning there is no better example to be had! Speak with one of our specialist for details of what might suit you.
