Westminster Abbey has seen the coronation of 39 British monarchs since 1066, with the famed Rose Window bearing witness to many. Bathing the Coronation Theatre in sunlight, the South-facing Rose Window is the pinnacle of Gothic architecture - representing unity and wholeness due to its formation from perfectly balanced parts. This coronation concept coin is by renowned numismatic artist Jody Clark, and it shows the magnificent Rose Window of Westminster Abbey encircling an engraving of the Imperial State Crown - created in 1937, to crown King George VI in the coronation of that same year. Charles III will become only the third British monarch to wear the Imperial State Crown for his coronation after his grandfather George VI and mother Queen Elizabeth II.
