The British WWII-era Bank of England 'White Fiver'

During WWII the higher value notes produced by the Bank of England were a fairly simple black-and-white design - printed on only one side of a very large note. Whilst it was a design that had been used for almost 200 years by the Bank, it was quickly  becoming unsafe. The Nazis counterfeited millions of pounds worth of these notes and often they were able to sneak them into the banking system. This type of note became famous in the 1954 movie 'The Million Pound note' starring Gregory Peck. The Bradford Mint is pleased to be able to offer the large white fiver in an acrylic display holder and in Grade 6 condition to our discerning collectors.
