About this set

We can now look back on the reign of Queen Elizabeth II and marvel at it as the longest of any British monarch in history. The moment she became the longest reigning monarch was in September 2015 and it was celebrated at the time by a handful of commemorative coins. This two-coin set brings together the Australian Fifty Cent with the British sterling silver five pounds, and what’s more both coins have been assessed by PCGS and are in matching grades. The Australian fifty cent features a superb intricate design depicting Her Majesty’s Royal insignia and Australia’s golden wattle. This coin was NOT released into circulation and in fact a very small number of only 59,000 were minted. The coin in this set grades MS69 – just one point off perfect – and is equal second finest known. The British coins is a Crown sized Five pounds coin in sterling silver. The design is simple, and features a Crown along with the legend ONE Crown - a subtle play on words that meant, since 1952 there had been just one monarch. It also features a celebratory portrait of The Queen by James Butler in place of the usual coinage portrait. Mintage was limited to 10,249! The coin in this set is graded by PCGS PR69 and is also equal second finest known. A superb pair of coins in tribute to Queen Elizabeth II and the moment in history when she became Britain’s longest reigning monarch, and among the finest quality you could ever obtain!
