The Official British Gold Sovereign for Her Majesty The Queen & Prince Philip’s last-ever milestone wedding anniversary

In 2017 Her Majesty The Queen and Prince Philip celebrated their Platinum Wedding Anniversary – a glorious 70 years of marriage! With the sad passing of Prince Philip in April, that Platinum Wedding Anniversary is now the last milestone celebration of their wedded life together. To celebrate that event in 2017, the Royal Mint produced a gold sovereign in honour of the wedding anniversary and struck it on the very day of the anniversary – 20th November. This was the first time ever that a sovereign had been released for the Royal Wedding Anniversary.

Her Majesty the Queen married quite young (aged 21) so not only is it the first Platinum Wedding Anniversary in British royal history, but it is possibly going to be the only one. Prince Charles and Camilla will not reach 70 years of marriage, and Prince William will need to reach the age of 104 before he and Kate celebrate a Platinum anniversary. Suffice to say this is likely to be the only sovereign of its kind for a very long time, and indeed may well be the only one of its kind forever.
We have secured a small quantity of coins in their original Royal Mint packaging, which includes a hand signed certificate from one of the officials at the Royal Mint, an illustrated wedding booklet and special outer packaging. The mintage was just 750 coins and each one has a numbered certificate of authenticity. Our Senior Executives are waiting to help you become one of the lucky 750. Call now!
