Details

In 2001 Australian cricketing legend Sir Donald Bradman died at the age of 93. Nicknamed "The Don", he is widely acknowledged as the greatest batsman of all time. His career Test batting average (across 80 Tests) of 99.94 is still a record today and is acknowledged as one of the greatest achievements by any sportsman in any major world sport. So important is Bradman in the folklore of Australian sport that upon his death, a commemorative coin was produced, along with two commemorative stamps. The coin was only the second commemorative 20c piece in Australian history, and 10 million of them were produced and released into circulation. Today they are all-but impossible to find in your change and if you did, the coin would exhibit the wear of almost twenty years’ use. The coin in this set is in guaranteed MINT STATE having been sent to PCGS, the independent grading company, and graded by them out of a maximum of 70 points: on this scale there are ten individual levels just for ‘Mint State’!

The coin in this set has been awarded 64 points making it equal fourth-finest known for this coin type. Both stamps in this set are in mint, unused condition. All three are housed in a superb display allowing you to enjoy the design of the coin and stamps in tribute to ‘The Don’.
